This website has a lot of really great literature for children. It has poetry written by other children, and short stories written by other children. You can also publish your students’ work on this page, or they can put their work on it.

really liked this website because you can go on to the website and choose the age level and choose the country from which you want to read a story form. When you bring up the books, it tells you the read time that it should take. For the stories from other countries make sure you click on

I liked this site because it has a search which you can search the database and find books about your preferences, it has everything from setting to historical period to gender of protagonist. You could use this website to find a book you want to use to teach about any specific subject. Here is the direct link to the search:

This website could be really fun for children, because the author of the website reads the stories on video, so the students can watch and listen or read along with her.

I found this website by accident while I was looking for activities to do for disabled children, but it gives a bunch of great books to read to children, there is a whole list of books about disabilities. These would be great to read to children even if they don’t have disabilities.
